What is Fir Tree Therapies?

Fir Tree Therapies aims to help you find your way through therapy with empathy, understanding and an individual approach tailored to your personal needs.

Hi, I'm Jenni.

I'm a High-Intensity Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist, specialising in trauma and with additional training in other therapy approaches. All this means is that I have put years of learning and practice into becoming a therapist that can support with a wider range of concerns, and adapt our therapy to meet your needs.

I started my journey working with children in complex needs schools, moving on to training in children's wellbeing, before completing my High-intensity CBT training with adults. I loved working with both children and adults, and so my private practice is open to all ages.

My values

Individuality

I emphasise the importance of you as an individual in therapy. I believe that therapy works best when it is tailored to the person, and we will work together to ensure your voice is the centre of our work.

Accountability

My role as your therapist is to listen to your concerns, work with you to create a plan for therapy, and support you to reach your goals. I believe that your role is to make the most of our sessions and take what we practice into your day to day life. I encourage open communicate to help us both fulfil our role.

Appreciation

I value you as an individual and recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and how 'weaknesses' often help us understand ourselves better. We will reflect in our sessions on how you are working on shifting your focus from weaknesses to strengths, and work towards accepting your full-self.

FAQs

What happens once I contact you?

I will respond with further information relating to your enquiry, which may include booking in a free 20 minute consultation phone call or sharing our referral form for you to complete.

Once you have decided if therapy is right for you, we will book in a time for our first appointment.

What would my therapy sessions look like?

Therapy sessions last 40-60 minutes, and are typically held weekly or fortnightly depending on your goals. We discuss what is most important to explore for that week, whilst introducing skills to help you work towards your goals.

How much does therapy cost?

Your phone call consultation is absolutely free and will give you the information you need to decide if Fir Tree Therapies is right for you.

Therapy sessions cost £80 each, however block booking appointments can be more cost effective, and can be discussed in your consultation.

If my child is in therapy, do I as the parent need to attend?

Typically, attending the first appointment together is beneficial to ensure a full picture is captured, and in this first session we can discuss what would be most helpful for your child as well as what they would prefer.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, everything that is discussed in our phone calls and sessions is kept entirely confidential, in line with the BABCP code of conduct that I adhere to as an accredited therapist.

For further information on how your information is stored, please refer to Fir Tree Therapies privacy policy.

Do you offer face to face therapy?

At present, therapy is only offered via video. However, if interest for in-person therapy in the Leicestershire area grows, this may be an option in the future.

Do I need a diagnosis to be in therapy?

No, you can engage in therapy for any mental health concerns that you have noticed e.g. you might feel anxious but not have a diagnosis, and so we would work on your presentation of anxiety.
